About us
Email is the last piece of infrastructure most companies never really own. You rent an address at someone else's domain, accept whatever retention policy ships that quarter, and discover the export path only when you want to leave.
MailStack exists because the alternative — running your own mail server — has been needlessly miserable. The classic stack means Postfix, Dovecot, an auth backend, a spam filter and a webmail client, each with its own configuration language, glued together by hand.
So we built the whole path as one application. It receives SMTP itself, signs outbound mail with each domain's own DKIM key, and pushes new mail to the browser the instant it lands. Adding a domain generates its keypair and hands you the exact DNS records to publish, including the ones providers silently truncate.
What we optimise for
Own the data
Mailboxes, message history and your domains' DKIM private keys all live on infrastructure you control. There is no copy of your mail on our side, because there is no our side — you deploy it.
No surprises in the bill
Flat monthly tiers with quotas you can see. We refuse the action when you hit a limit rather than billing overage you did not agree to.
Tell the truth about deliverability
Nobody can promise inbox placement from a cold IP. We generate correct SPF, DKIM and DMARC and give you a relay option while you warm up — and we say so plainly instead of selling certainty.
Boring, inspectable infrastructure
One Node process handling SMTP, the API and the realtime feed. No Postfix to configure, no Dovecot, no container orchestration to debug at 2am.
Who it suits
Agencies and IT providers running mail for client domains, companies with a compliance reason to keep mail on their own hardware, and teams who simply want their email to stop being someone else's product decision.
It suits you less well if you need Outlook over IMAP today, or if nobody on your side wants to own a PTR record. We would rather say that up front.
